HOTELS CASE

HOTEL / HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

About The Industry

Major players in the industry include Wyndham Hotel Group, Marriot International, and Hilton Worldwide, with 8976, 6,542, and 5,405 properties, respectively, across the world.

Electrical equipment and machinery are, often, susceptible to failures, defects, and uncalled-for repairs.  Loss of revenue because of these failures amounts to millions of dollars annually. Infrared (IR) Predictive Maintenance Programs (PdMP) is an essential key to cost saving for healthy equipment and well-functioning facilities machinery.

Some of the benefits of IR survey are:

  • Reduction in unexpected machinery failures;
  • Cost savings in maintenance costs, repairs, etc.
  • Promotes and consequently improves the safe working environment onboard due to the maintenance plan’s look ahead technique.
  • Inventories for stock parts and spares will be minimized as the parts need not be asked for ‘in-advance’ that would otherwise be called for during machinery breakdowns.
  • The technique will ensure that machinery or the equipment operates at an optimal operational level that would, in turn, save energy consumption and thereby working costs.
  • Intend increasing the shelf life of the components, lasting longer and performing better.

The Problem

Maritime Industry, today, focuses largely on having minimal shipboard failures, defects, or breakdowns. Unplanned accidents are unavoidable but the least can be done is to prevent them from happening by way of predicting and analyzing future trends of the equipment.

The benefits of infrared thermography are widely known and accepted with land-based facilities. The benefits of the Thermography can be applied to electrical and mechanical systems of the hospitality industry.

In addition to saving money and increasing uptime, thermography can play a crucial function in maintaining the safety and reliability of facilities where system failure could lead to catastrophic loss.

The Solution

CIS has 15 years /I’m not aware of the exact number of years of experience/ of experience performing IR surveys on board of ships with commerce, recreation, or for military purposes. Our expertise and reliability made us the preferable choice of one of the large ship owners in the industry.

One of the biggest differences performing thermography on any type or size of a cargo ship is the space of operation, which is limited and premium. The target is too close to achieving a good focus or resolution. For this reason, wide-angle lenses are often required, with a little ingenuity and dexterity to perform a quality job. CIS is a well-known consultant for high-resolution equipment. We do offer consultation for the equipment purchase.

Our thermographers are specially trained and well prepared to complete the IR survey.
